The Mum
Find out more about Lucy and the mum behind Mumtrepreneur. After years of wrestling with who I am and other people’s perception of who I should be, I’ve grown into someone I’m tremendously proud of.
Lucy’s story
I’m Lucy Beckwith, I’m a serial entrepreneur, investor and loving mum, who is raising two beautiful children with my incredible partner, Aaron. That’s what my social media profiles say anyway.
Just beneath the surface, though, I’m a mum who struggled to connect with the early years of her children, I faced prolonged post-natal depression – with all the guilt and shame that comes with that – and an ongoing battle with type 1 diabetes.
After years of wrestling with who I am and other people’s perception of who I should be, I’ve grown into someone I’m tremendously proud of. I have a better relationship with my family than ever, I’ve started and exited several businesses and, in truth, I’m only just getting started.

You’ve come to the right place.
Mumtrepreneur is a chance to share my journey. To shine a light in the darkness and reveal a path for others to follow. We’re here to help incredible women remember just how incredible they are. Yes! We mean you! You are resilient, and you are powerful, or you wouldn’t be here. We aim to answer the question: What if mums could go from feeling tired, isolated and judged to being inspired, supported and loved?
From candid tales of distress to the ever-winding road to success, we share business advice, mental health stories and the cold-hard realities of being a working mum. Mumtrepreneur aims to become a network of inspiration and support for mums in business and beyond. Representation is our destination, but buckle up; there’s a long road ahead!
Why does it matter?
When our babies are born, as Mum’s, we’re often expected to put our lives on pause. “You have to lose yourselves for a few years,” they say, while we smile and nod and tell our Instagram following how wonderful everything is. But what if you don’t feel that way? What if you’re struggling to connect with your family, yourself and even your child?
At Mumtrepreneur, we believe every mum has the right to an identity that transcends having kids. It’s time to amplify the voice of mothers in business, normalise the challenges parents face, and shout from the rooftops: it’s okay to be struggling.

Raising Babies &
Awareness
Lucy is now an advocate for postnatal depression. Her goal is to help remove the stigma surrounding the topic, with Mumtrepreneur encouraging other women to speak up and seek help.
