Finding a relaxing place for a meeting or to set up your laptop can be a pain, especially if you don’t know the area you’re in. But what if you have kids? Suddenly, you’re not just considering the WiFi; you’re fretting over how much seating they have and whether there’s enough space to stash your pushchairs.
Whether I have my children with me or not, I’m always looking for vibrant spaces where I can soak up some inspiration with good coffee and empathetic staff. If a cafe, bar, or restaurant makes the grade, I note it and add it to my Mumpreneur-Friendly list. Then, I tell all my friends about it…
Here’s a snapshot of some places I’ve visited in the last 12 months.

Greenwich Grind (Greenwich)
A chic yet laid-back spot that’s become my absolute go-to for coffee, meetings, and solo work sessions. There’s a great vibe, ample seating, and excellent coffee. Plus, it’s stroller-friendly, so whether you’re brainstorming ideas or catching up on emails, your little one can sit back and relax comfortably without worrying about being relocated whenever someone needs to squeeze past. Mercato Metropolitano (Elephant and Castle)
This vibrant food market offers an array of international cuisines, plenty of open space for strollers, and a relaxed environment perfect for casual meetups or informal work sessions.
It’s a great spot to connect with other like-minded mums while enjoying something delicious.
Something is going on every day, and with so much choice, no one has to compromise. If you love an energetic atmosphere with fantastic food options, Mercato Metropolitano is the place for you.

Museum of London Docklands Café (Canary Wharf)
Tucked inside the Museum of London Docklands, this spacious, baby-friendly café is perfect for quiet working sessions or informal coffee meetups. With plenty of seating, baby-changing facilities, and even a small play space, it’s an excellent find for Mumtrepreneurs looking for a more relaxed atmosphere. Plus, once you’re done working, you can take your little one on a fun museum adventure.

Electric House, Soho House (Portobello Road)
The perfect blend of work and play. Whether you’re hosting a client meeting, catching up with fellow Mumtrepreneurs, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with your newborn, Soho House knows how to deliver. There are plenty of seating options, soft furnishings, and a community atmosphere that masterfully walks the line between casual and professional. Note: You’ll have to be a Soho House member (or be invited by one) to get past reception.

Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay (Mayfair)
This isn’t a place you can set up your laptop and work all afternoon from, but if you’re looking for an elevated dining experience that balances impressing an important work contact and bringing your family along, Lucky Cat delivers on both style and comfort. The Asian-inspired menu and sleek decor create a sophisticated atmosphere that is both warm and welcoming to families. Perfect for special occasions or simply treating yourself to a work lunch with a side of glamour. Note: The new Lucky Cat will launch in Bishopsgate in February, so I’ll be heading back ASAP. (And lucky Lucy, it’s closer to home).
Entrepreneurs have so much on their minds at all times. Add being a parent to your daily chores, and it can quickly become overwhelming. I hope knowing about some of these places will make at least one of today’s decisions a no-brainer.
