The Founder, Lucy Beckwith
Being raised a Beckwith, I was immersed in business from a young age. My parents, Gary and Rita, were the founders of City Cruises, the tour boat operator that transformed hospitality and sightseeing on the River Thames. For my brother and me, family mealtimes doubled as board meetings, and “holidays” felt more like work experience.
I started at the bottom: sweeping floors, serving tea, selling tickets, and running events. After years at the coal face, I became a shareholder and decision-maker, but, in truth, it still felt like the beginning.
As I grew, I inherited my dad’s entrepreneurial spirit, and my passion for creating things led me away from City Cruises.
Since then, I’ve invested across multiple industries, becoming a familiar face in UK hospitality—with restaurants, bars, nightclubs, festivals, party boats, and even a drive-in cinema. My journey’s had its share of wins and losses, but I’ve learned countless lessons that have served me well in both life and business.

City Cruise PLC
Former Shareholder & Director
The UK’s largest tour boat company. When Lucy sold her shares in 2019, City Cruises had a fleet of over forty vessels transporting four million passengers a year and a group turnover of 24 million pounds.
Burger & Bubbles
Founder
An innovative dining destination famed for its trademarked sliders and scones, craft burgers, curated cocktails, and the exclusive Tipsy Tea Party experience. Burger & Bubbles helped distinguish Lucy as a restaurateur.

Stardust LDN
Founder
Dubbed London’s first and only immersive winter festival experience, Stardust appealed to the luxury summer festival crowds—think We Are FSTVL and Wilderness—and patrons of party-focused beach resorts, like O Beach in Ibiza.
Celestial Cinema
Founder
A drive-in cinema created during the pandemic. The business quickly evolved into pop-up installations and seasonal set builds. ‘Home Edition’ then beamed the concept into people’s living rooms by providing a cinema-in-a-box experience.
City Group
Founder
Comprehensive event management services for local authorities and private clients. City Group offers expertise from inception to execution, including creative, logistics, staffing, catering, entertainment, risk management, and health and safety.

Founder
A jaw-dropping festival at the intersection of music, art and immersive experiences. In its debut year, Dream Valley became Europe’s fastest-selling 15,000-capacity event. In year two, Lucy exited the business after selling to a well-known festival operator.
